Bobby

Piano, Guitar Teacher

Born in Houston, Texas, Bobby grew up with an affinity for music at an early age. At the tender age of 5, Bobby taught himself how to play the piano and compose melodies. Intrigued by music’s profound storytelling ability, he immersed himself in various musical styles. He listened and learned gospel, country, rock, contemporary, blues, and classical music. By high school, Bobby’s musical interests extended even further. So, he began composing music for local film projects and musical theater.

In 2007, Bobby was admitted to Berklee College of Music’s 5-Week Program. During this program, he realized that music could be more than a passion – music could be his career. The following year he enrolled in classes full-time and received an award as a Finalist in Berklee’s 6th annual Film Scoring Contest. In 2010, Bobby composed an original score for “Lemon Pie and a Black Eye,” a short feature film that premiered at the Boston Film Festival. In 2013, Bobby graduated Suma Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s in Film Composition.

Bobby currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where he composes commercial music and teaches piano and guitar lessons. He believes music is a gift to nurture and share. It’s for this reason that he enjoys teaching it to students.

"I'm so happy that we found The Schuler Music Studio! We worked with a couple of teachers before this, and it used to be like pulling teeth, trying to get my daughter to practice the piano during the week. Ever since we enrolled her in lessons with you, it's been a complete 180. I love listening to her play, and I love even more that she goes to the piano on her own without me having to tell her to. I'm telling everybody about it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" - Eleonor R., Sherman Oaks
