Imagine What's Possible When You Love Your Music Lessons

Violin Lessons in Sherman Oaks

Have you been exploring the idea of violin lessons for your child? We teach violin lessons to students 4.5 years and up. The violin is a celebrated instrument, centuries old, and known for it’s clear, beautiful, melodic tone; it’s a fantastic instrument choice for students who are excited by music and dedicated to learning. Because the violin does not have frets (unlike the guitar or the ukulele), training a young violinist’s ear to recognize and replicate accurate pitch is of the utmost importance. We blend the Suzuki method (for ear-training) with the traditional method of note-reading and focus heavily on proper playing technique so that our students develop good habits and have all of the tools they will need in order to be successful as they learn to play the violin.

Most people think of classical music when they think of the violin. But folk music is rich in its usage of violin, too! Commonly referred to as the fiddle, the violin is a central component to many countries’ musical traditions. If you’ve ever heard an Irish jig, you’ve heard a violin!

Whether you’re interested in a classical approach, learning pop covers, or learning a more fiddle/folk style of playing, our teachers can help tailor a program to suit your interests! We offer violin lessons in Sherman Oaks to students of all ages. While we specialize in lessons for beginners, we offer intermediate and advanced level lessons as well. Whether you’re starting from scratch or wanting to take your existing skills to the next level, we can help you!

"I'm so happy that we found The Schuler Music Studio! We worked with a couple of teachers before this, and it used to be like pulling teeth, trying to get my daughter to practice the piano during the week. Ever since we enrolled her in lessons with you, it's been a complete 180. I love listening to her play, and I love even more that she goes to the piano on her own without me having to tell her to. I'm telling everybody about it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" - Eleonor R., Sherman Oaks
