Ko

Piano, Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, Saxophone, Bass Teacher

From the beautiful town of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Ko is a composer, songwriter, and teacher. His heart is to share the gift of music! He has 25 years of experience playing the piano and also dabbles in saxophone, guitar, ukulele, bass and voice. Ko’s background is in classical music, but his musical style has evolved over the years. He now plays a unique blend of pop, rock, reggae and gospel.

The past 10 years of his music career have been comprised of teaching one-on-one music lessons and touring as the keyboard/saxophone player for a popular island reggae band. His band has brought in numerous awards over the years and stands amongst the top reggae acts, with millions of fans from all over the world!

Ko’s other musical adventures include music directing for multiple churches, audio engineering, session musician work, and writing a collection of original solo piano compositions. Of all of these lanes in music, however, he finds teaching to be the most fulfilling. He believes in the calling of sharing one of his greatest passions with those who are eager to learn. He specializes in catering lessons toward each student’s learning style and interests. As a result, his students continue to grow in their playing abilities! Ko married his beautiful wife, Bri, and they have two big fur-babies, Bear and Blue.

"I'm so happy that we found The Schuler Music Studio! We worked with a couple of teachers before this, and it used to be like pulling teeth, trying to get my daughter to practice the piano during the week. Ever since we enrolled her in lessons with you, it's been a complete 180. I love listening to her play, and I love even more that she goes to the piano on her own without me having to tell her to. I'm telling everybody about it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" - Eleonor R., Sherman Oaks
